Mission Christmas at Tweddle Engineering 2019

We raised over £123 for Mission Christmas and used that money to buy and donate presents for the charity.
We had a cake sale and Owner Derek Tweddle cooked up a breakfast!

Qualifications:
Engineering related qualification(s) advantageous
Graduate level engineer applications will be considered

Key Skills:
Proven ability to set up, track and monitor projects
Responding to requests from customers, regarding information on new and existing projects
Understanding new project briefs and progressing these internally to create effective solutions to our customers’ requirements
Flexible approach to tasks with the ability to prioritise, according to potential impact
Liaising with suppliers and sourcing the best prices for bespoke components
Working to deadlines for multiple projects at any one time
Excellent people and communication skills with the ability to work effectively and influence at all levels of the organisation
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Outlook and Excel
Good analytical and problem solving skills with an exceptional level of attention to detail
Purchasing of project specific materials and scheduling required resources; raising and receipting purchase orders, as necessary
Organising accommodation & travel for off-site work
Maintain and develop customer relations to promote a positive working relationship
Creating and maintaining project records; including project plans and job registers
Organisation and recording minutes of internal meetings
Proposing, agreeing, implementing and reporting corrective actions to secure the project baseline
Initiative and ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
Supporting and assisting the Project Manager and Directors throughout project life cycles

Advantageous Skills:
Knowledge of steel fabrication and construction processes
Proven experience working in an engineering environment
Experience with technical documentation and schedules; including GA drawings and P&ID’s
Creating quotes for design proposals
Experience in a similar role
Use of Sage accounting software

Benefits:
The required working hours are 42.5 or 45 hours per week; 0700 to 1630, 08:00 to 1730 or 0830 to 1730, Monday to Friday.
We offer 20 days holiday plus, public and Bank Holidays. The Company is closed between Christmas and New Year and an additional day’s holiday is awarded with every 3 years of continuous service.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary/Wage: Minimum of £11 per hour starting wage, dependent on experience.

New Health and Safety Manager Joins Team

Tweddle Engineering are delighted that Leanne Campbell (31) has joined as Health and Safety Manager. Tweddle Engineering is a leading provider of bespoke machinery who focus heavily on the supply of treatment equipment and pressure vessels to the timber preservation market.

Leanne, from Lockerbie, joins the engineering firm from The Edinburgh Woollen Mill where she was Group Health and Safety Officer.

The Health and Safety Manager, who attended Glasgow Caledonian University, is NEBOSH General Certified and is working towards the NEBOSH Diploma. Leanne also has technical membership of IOSH.

Miss Campbell “I’m delighted to have joined Tweddle Engineering as I am looking forward to building my knowledge in a new sector and building on the Health and Safety foundations already in place. I am looking forward to a new challenge after relocating back from Cardiff.”

In her spare time Leanne enjoys spending times with friends, family, going on holiday and walking her new puppy.
