Welder Fabricator 

We currently have a requirement for a Skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our busy and friendly team. The role is offered on a permanent basis and offers a fantastic opportunity for the right person.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To be able to process information in the form of manufacturing instructions, drawings and verbal to enable the efficient fabrication of company products
  • Following the correct legislation for yourself and your colleagues in regard to Health and Safety policies
  • For work to be quality assured in to the standards of our company and for the inspection of own work at predefined spaces
  • Keeping the workplace and machinery clean, in a safe working condition
  • Off-site work is available depending on the location of our client, this is not mandatory
  • Applicant must be proficient in MIG welding, with a good level of experience

As we are based at Kirkbride, Cumbria it is a necessity that you have your own transport due to the location.

Benefits
The working hours are 45 hours, between 0700 to 1630 or 0800 to 1730 Monday to Friday. We are flexible with working hours and are willing to accommodate the right candidate. We offer 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and an additional day’s holiday is awarded with every 3-years’ service.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Dependant on experience

Engineering Labourer

We currently have a requirement for an Engineering Labourer to join our busy and friendly team. The role is offered on a permanent basis and offers a fantastic opportunity for the right person.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing material for measuring; cutting; drilling; bending; mag drilling; paint spraying; finishing and packaging for dispatch
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working area; housekeeping and removing swarf/scrap; sweeping; erecting barriers; disposing of excess materials; following safety rules and procedures; wearing personal protective equipment
  • Operating Counterbalance FLT to assist moving material and finished processes. It is not necessary to have a qualification as full training will be supplied.
  • Supporting machinery operations as second man when required

Key skills that the successful Candidate MUST have:

  • Excellent communication
  • Excellent organisation
  • Be physically fit as the job will involve manual handling

Christmas Closing Times

Treatment Tank Leaving Cumbrian Workshop

Today a Stand Alone Treatment Plant left Tweddle Engineering's Cumbrian workshop. 

The Autoclave is 2.3m in diameter, 28m long and weighs 36.5 tonnes. 

The Storage Tank is 3.8m in diameter, 14m long and weights 17 tonne empty and can hold 158000 litres!

Director helps with Primary School's Engineering Challenge

Director Joe Watson attended Locharbriggs Primary School near Dumfries yesterday.

Joe was helping P6 and P7 pupils with their Primary Engineer and Secondary Engineer Leaders Award Engineering Challenge.


Joe talked to the students about the job of a design engineer, the students then had to come up with a problem and work out a solution as part of the engineering challenge.

Managing Director supports Remembrance Festival

Managing Director, Derek Tweddle, was busy fabricating, welding & spray painting at the weekend for a Remembrance Festival display.The display is for an event at St. Kentigern's Church, Aspatria with proceeds going to Blesma, The Limbless Veterans and Blind Veterans UK.
